THANK YOUs A R E IN ORDER
Joe Aguelino – Joe has been a member of CSEA so long I couldn’t get records. He
retired from EDD after years of service and has been an active member of Retirees
serving as President of Chapter 17 for over 25 years as well as Vice President from
2009 to 2010 and Delegate to General Council for numerous councils. Joe has
dedicated his time and energy to active employees and retirees alike, being involved in
political action and believing in the labor movement and rights of all state workers. Joe
has been a “union” member of various unions for over 70 years.
Jennie Wolk – Jennie worked at DMV for 31 years retiring in 1989 as a supervisor.
She became an active member of Chapter 17 serving as Treasurer from 1996 to 2010
and sitting on the Fiscal Committee since 1999. Jennie has also served as delegate to
numerous General Councils currently holding that position. Jennie has been dedicated
to the members and chapter working diligently as Treasurer, active in political action
and organizing the chapters Holiday Party.
We look forward to seeing both of these dedicated members at our meetings and
events.
DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES NEEDED
Chapter 17 is in need of Alternate Delegate to attend the Delegate Assembly in August.
Nomination forms will be available at our meeting in April for those interested. Please
come to the meeting, complete the form and submit it to the President. We will have
election of delegates at the next meeting in June 2011.

DONNA SNODGRASS, VICE PRESIDENT of CSEA, RUNNING FOR
CalPERS SEAT
The Election ballots for the vacated CalPERS will be mailed on April 21, 2011
and must be postmarked or at CalPERS office by May 19
th

Retirees, Inc. has endorsed DONNA SNODGRASS. It is imperative that ALL
CalPERS members vote. Please make calls to those you know and ask them
to support DONNA for this seat.
Donna has made efforts to form partnerships with other public entities not
already a part of CSEA. These partnerships are providing those groups with
access to CSEA benefits as special members. Donna’s goal has been to
generate enough income from those partnerships to avoid future dues
increases to current members. She has been successful in this endeavor by
signing up an estimated 17,000 new members.
